The Sounds of Advice #7

How to deal with a bad break-up:

Sandy: Take the time you need to heal and then when you are ready you can date again. A lot of the times even if we loved the person we later realize that we are better off without them.

Aisling: Take time to wallow. Whether by yourself or with a friend. Take the time to cry, mindlessly watch TV, eat junk food. Taking time for yourself is the most important thing. This is a time you can reevaluate what you really want and focus on yourself.

Kate: Allow yourself time to grieve. It's never an easy thing when you break-up with someone, especially if you still love them. Surround yourself with people who care about you. You don't have to go through it alone. It may be easier to shy away, but being with your friends will help, even if it just takes your mind off things temporarily. And know that things will get easier as time goes on. You will be okay and if you're not okay, reach out to someone, but never let anyone ever invalidate your feelings.
