New Anthology Alert!!

Image
Rock & Roll Saved My Soul would like to proudly announce it's newest anthology, entitled "Notes of Dreams: How Music Inspires the World." What is this anthology about?   It will be a collection of stories and poetry inspired by music. Pick a band, song, or album, and write something inspired by it. It can just be whatever comes to mind while listening, or you can write what you think the message of the song or album is. That is what I (Kate Marie) am doing. I will be using an excerpt from a book I am writing, called For A Lifetime, which is based off the song "Give Me Something" by Scars on 45 . Submissions are due no later than August 31st and must be no longer than 15,000 words. Proceeds are being donated to Bro-Am , a charity that was created by the band Switchfoot . What is Bro-Am about? Switchfoot Bro-Am Foundation: A thriving future for every kid. Bro-Am focuses on initiatives in three areas that create a thriving future: Physical wellbein

Everyday Miracles

Image
Rock & Roll Saved My Soul has been working hard with a wonderful woman by the name of Andrea to put together an anthology that benefits CDH (Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia). Her daughter was diagnosed with it when she was very young and it has been a struggle for the whole family. CDH isn't as widely known as it should be, so RRSMS has decided that shedding some light on the disease was necessary.  The anthology we are putting together is called Everyday Miracles. It is simply a collection of stories about miracles--both fiction and non-fiction.  All proceeds are being donated to CHERUBS .

Social Media Spotlight: YouTube

RRSMS YouTube 1. What do you think is the best thing about running Song of the Day & RRSMS YouTube Channel? I think the best thing is getting to be a part of such a great team of people that come together to share such an awesome thing. Also I love sharing song of the day because I get to discover new music and share music that I love too.  2. Do you have any favorite or special interactions with follower(s)?  I like sharing the songs of the day with everyone.  3. What do you think is the biggest challenge in running Song of the Day and RRSMS YouTube channel?  I think the biggest challenge is making sure to keep the songs of the day diverse enough so there's something for everyone. For the YouTube channel I'm still learning some of the ropes for putting together videos lol.  4. One goal for the future?  One goal for the future I have is to make the RRSMS YouTube videos more entertaining and getting more comfortable speaking in front of the came

Social Media Spotlight: LinkedIn

RRSMS LinkedIn 1. What do you think is the best thing about running LinkedIn? Knowing the site and how everything works is probably an obvious one, but outside of that, I would have to say the best thing is the connections I’m making. I still sometimes blow my own socks off of my feet. 2. Do you have any favorite or special interactions with follower(s)? I haven’t had any actual conversations with connections yet, but my favorite connections are the ones from the top publishers in the country. You never know where those doors will lead to. 3. What do you think is the biggest challenge in running LinkedIn? The only real challenge I face with running not only RRSMS LinkedIn, but all of my personal social media, is my pregnancy. This first trimester has been rough, which in turn makes it difficult to get things done. Kate has been an absolute Saint about it, which has helped me tremendously. 4. One goal for the future? I would personally love to see the RRS

RRSMS Tumblr 1. What do you think is the best thing about running Tumblr? Sid: It gives me a chance to share my broad music scope with flowers as well as being able to help out with Rock and Roll Saved My Soul's announcements. 2. Do you have any favorite or special interactions with follower(s)? Gina: The followers don't really interact with us through Tumblr. Social Media Spotlight: Rescue Me

Rescue Me -- Animal Anthology   1. What do you think is the best thing about running Rescue Me - Animal Anthology? For me the best part is getting the chance to use the love and passion that I feel for animals to raise money and awareness for shelters or organizations that directly assist those same pets. It is a great way to create a larger reach for the animals in need. 2. Do you have any favorite or special interactions with follower(s)? Right now the best interactions are getting new stories but I have a few favorite memories. The first was when I was able to attend the World Finals of Monster Jam where the top monster truck drivers compete and meet a driver that one of the dogs in volume 1 is named after. She signed my copy and got one for herself while also making a video for the boys that own the dog. It was very sweet and still makes me smile thinking about it. The second was when I got the opportunity to attend the rescueversary for Brian from The Life of
