RRSMS – BEHIND THE SCENES

These interviews were conducted by Rock & Roll Saved My Soul's Head of Promotional Artwork and founder of the Authors Against Bullying Series, Bree Vanderland!  Behind the scenes of Rock & Roll Saved My Soul, there are so many people working hard to make it all that you see, myself included. But I would like to introduce you to some of the people who have taken the time to make everything possible. Here I asked them a couple of questions about RRSMS and what it means to them and the answers are just absolutely touching! We have people from promotions, to social media, and even one of the owners who took the time to answer my questions, my own at the very end. Tell our readers a little bit about yourself. We want to get to know you better! My name is Gina, I live with my dog Zachariah, hamster Abner, ball python Saosin, dwarf hamster Jaime, rat Stuart, my mom, sister, and long time friend. I live in what I would consider it fairly small city, considering that you can walk across it in one day if you are that ambitious. Music and giving back are a huge part of who I am, I have seen over 60 bands in my meager 25 years of living and I don’t plan on letting that number slow down. I love helping others which is why I along with volunteering to help with RRSMS I am a crisis counselor for Crisis Text Line and I work with the youth in my city to help them become all they can be. I am also an avid reader and I love to create in any way that I can find fit, painting, coloring, anything really! What’s it been like volunteering for Rock & Roll Saved My Soul? What is your favorite thing about it? It has been a blast volunteering for Ro

Tell our readers a little bit about yourself. We want to get to know you better! Well, I'm 22 years old and I've been writing since the first grade. I mostly write within the horror/paranormal genre but I've also been dabbling in romance and thriller. A lot of my pieces I've written are based or loosely based on real life experiences that I've been through, which I think it make it more personal and interesting. My biggest inspiration to pursue writing is my 11 year old niece and my four year old sister. They keep me motivated even when I'm at my lowest points. What’s it been like volunteering for Rock & Roll Saved My Soul? What is your favorite thing about it? It's been amazing volunteering with Rock and Roll Saved My Soul! My favorite thing about volunteering with RRSMS is getting to connect with other people and organizations that share the same passion and love of writing that I have. What made you want to join the Rock & Roll S

To be quite honest, I don’t even know where to start with RRSMS other than to say it’s an amazing family. Rock & Roll Saved My Soul  is a non-profit publishing company. They are known for putting together anthologies for new and experienced writers alike whose profits go towards charity. They work with people and hope to inspire, but more than that, the entire team is family. When  Kate Marie Robbins  started RRSMS, I was always interested in helping. I helped with promotions and contributed pieces to multiple anthologies, but when Kate mentioned that she wanted to expand RRSMS, I was ecstatic. That’s when Authors Against Bullying  was started, but we will get to that later. RRSMS has a group of people that work behind the scenes to make sure that everything is running smoothly for you guys. They have so much going on between Facebook,  Twitter ,  Tumblr ,  YouTube , and so much more. With so many anthologies out so far, they still hope to do so much more. This is de

I’m married to my high school sweetheart & we have three daughters. I played the violin when I was in middle school. I’m a terrible singer but I sing anyway. Someday I hope to learn how to play the guitar and the piano. My hobbies include reading, writing, scrapbooking, hand taming my two parakeets, taking pictures, playing Nancy Drew PC games & going for walks. What’s it been like volunteering for Rock & Roll Saved My Soul? What is your favorite thing about it? Volunteering for Rock & Roll Saved My Soul has been an awesome experience. My favorite thing about it is how many people have worked together and put so much work into creating something so amazing. What made you want to join the Rock & Roll Saved My Soul team? Tell our readers a little bit about yourself. We want to get to know you better! I'm an author from a little big town, creating is a big part of my life. I adore animals. I spend most of my days writing and trying to crank out my first novel. I absolutely love reading and creating in anyway I can.  What’s it been like volunteering for Rock & Roll Saved My Soul? What is your favorite thing about it? Volunteering with Rock and Roll Saved my Soul has been one of the more rewarding experiences I've had in a long time. The founders and team are a pleasure to work with and I adore the cause.  What made you want to join the Rock & Roll Saved My Soul team? I think it originally started out as wanting to help out my good friend, the founder, Kate, and then I just sort of grew to love the cause even more and decided to offer up my services on the media team.  Who are some of your favorite bands?  Favorite album(s)/song(s)? I'm a

Authors Against Bullying Spotlight

An interview with founder, Bree Vanderland Tell our readers a bit about your book series. Where did the idea come from?  Authors Against Bullying is something that was put together collectively. There was one day that I stopped all my plans and set them aside to talk to a friend of mine who was having a difficult time with people who were constantly picking on her in school. After listening to her talk about it and pour out her emotions, I wanted to do more to help than just stay here and listen since we were countries away from each other.  I know it’s small, but the Authors Against Bullying is not just to raise money for different bullying charities, but it’s also to raise awareness. Realizing there’s a problem is the first step to solving it.  What charity do your books benefit? Most of our book’s royalties are going to STOMP Out Bullying, a New York based charity who has made it their goal to raise awareness of bullying and to teach people how to be kinder to each other

Tell our readers a little bit about yourself. We want to get to know you better! I am 23 years old and I love reading and writing. When I’m not doing either, I can usually be found either cuddling one of my cats or playing with my little 10 year old sister. I write mainly Fantasy and am trying to expand on the genres, but on top of that, I am the creator of Authors Against Bullying, a charity book series published by RRSMS. What’s it been like volunteering for Rock & Roll Saved My Soul? What is your favorite thing about it? Volunteering and working with RRSMS has been an amazing experience. We all learn new things and we all work together to achieve our goals. Goals are set and I guess we’re more like family than anything else. A lot of us knew each other before RRSMS and the company brought us together even more.  What made you want to join the Rock & Roll Saved My Soul team?  A part of the reason that I joined was to help out Kate, the owner, and make sure that she ha
