Meet Sarah Kaider, Social Media Marketing Specialist - Instagram

Tell our readers a little bit about yourself. We want to get to know you better! My name is Sarah Kaider, and I'm obsessed with Aliens, Clones, and Airships. I am a science-fiction/fantasy author and photographer. I started writing my first book when I was 12 years old, and it has developed into a full-fledged trilogy, which is in the works and being polished. My current work-in-progress is a novel about cloning; it has become my pride and joy. When I'm not writing, photographing, or volunteering for RRSMS, I'm reading and rereading, obsessing over BBC's Sherlock, Alice In Wonderland, HIMYM, and The Walking Dead, and creating jewelry. I am also a full-time college student.

What’s it been like volunteering for Rock & Roll Saved My Soul? What is your favorite thing about it?
Volunteering for RRSMS has been a lot of fun.  Interacting with authors and musicians has been wonderful, especially getting to know them on personal levels.  I also love that RRSMS is completely non-profit, and that everything we do is to benefit the public.
As someone who is studying Advertising and PR, I have learned how to communicate a message while showing others support, by being more than a self-posting Instagram handle.

What made you want to join the Rock & Roll Saved My Soul team?
I joined RRSMS to make a difference in the world.  I knew that RRSMS was established to help spread awareness of certain social issues and show support and love to those who could really use it.  I wanted to help spread the idea that nobody has to face challenges alone.

Who are some of your favorite bands?  Favorite album(s)/song(s)?
Some of my favorite bands include The Birthday Massacre, Eve 6, MXMS, 30 Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park, U2, AFI, and Panic! at the Disco.

If you’ve been to a concert, which was the most memorable? Feel free to share any stories with us!
My favorite concert would have to be U2(360).  I saw it with my family in the Raven's stadium, and Florence and the Machine opened for Bono.

If you could go on tour with one band for a month, which band would you choose and why?
I would love to go on tour with either The Birthday Massacre, MXMS, or Panic! At The Disco.  The Birthday Massacre is one of my absolute favorite bands ever, and I just about died when Chibi pointed at me duing one of their concerts. I met Ariel and Jeremy from MXMS at the same The Birthday Massacre concert in Baltimore in 2015, and fell in love with their music.  Later on, I found out Jeremy was in one of my old favorite bands, Shiny Toy Guns, and I was ecstatic at having met him. And I absolutely love Brendon Urie's sound and personality, so I'd have so much fun on tour with him as well.

Are you a writer or musician? What genre? Where can we find out more about your writing or music?
I am a science-fiction and fantasy author with two different series in the works.  My author page on Facebook is www.facebook.com/sarahakaider  I've also been told that I belong in a band because of my vocal talent.  Though I haven't joined a band yet, I express my love for music through my jewelry company, where I make guitar pick earrings (Rocking Card Jewelry).

Anything you’d like to add?
I absolutely love my friends and teammates at RRSMS, and our community of authors and musicians, and I would love to see us expand further this year.
