Tales of Dark Fantasia - Thor: God Of The Night
Thor: God Of The Night
By Cassandra Jones
From Dark Fantasia
He stared up at the sky. Dark, ominous clouds covered the full moon. No normal man would be out on a night like this.
He was no ordinary man, not by any means. He was a god, or he used to be. He wasn’t sure what he was anymore.
Thor took a deep breath. He had been the Norse God of Thunder. How had he become this monster? How could he let this happen? They had caught him off guard.
He had just been watching for signs of trouble. He hadn’t heard them coming until it was too late. Now all he could think about was the hunger. The need to feed on anything human or animal.
Wasn’t he supposed to protect the people? Instead he wanted them to feel pain. How could he stop this urge to drain them of their blood?
He would never get used to being a vampire. He wasn’t a normal vampire, since he still had his pwers to control thunder and lightning. They only made him stronger.
“Have you thought about what I said?”
Thor looked at the man beside him. Asher had been the one to turn him. He was evil to the core. All he wanted was bloodshed. He didn’t want any humans to survive.
“With your strength we could destroy the humans in no time,” Asher reminded him, again.
He wasn’t in the business of killing humans for fun. It was all Asher lived for. He obviously had no heart before he was turned.
“Why would I use my powers to hurt the people I am sworn to protect?” Thor asked.
“So, you’re answer is no?” Asher sighed. “Need I remind you that if you do not feed, you will die.”
“Maybe,”Thor said. “That is better than hurting innocent people.”
Asher grabbed his arm, squeezing it. He was angry again. Asher only had that one emotion. Everything made him angry.
“You’ll do what you’re told,” Asher growled. “It’s time to go.”
“Where are we going now?” Thor started to follow him.
“To feed,” Asher informed him. “Even if it’s animals for now.”
Thor didn’t want this. It wasn’t fair to those animals. What did they do to deserve being slaughtered by a bunch of malicious vampires? What else could he do?
Asher was right. If he didn’t feed he would die, or would he? He was still a god. Maybe he would be all right?
If he was half god, half vampire did that mean mean he had special powers other vampires didn’t? He was stronger than before. Faster, too. Was his lightning more powerful as well?
He needed to get away from Asher. He had to test these new powers of his. Thor really wanted to be rid of Asher.
“Everyone else is happy with the plan,” Asher complained. “Why are you so hesitant?”
Thor looked at him with disgust. Did he really have to ask that? The plan was wrong. Innocent people didn’t deserve to die. There was nothing logical about Asher’s master plan.
“Are you a coward?” Asher continued.
Thor looked around at the other vampires. He was the coward, but Asher was always surrounded by his goons. He never went anywhere without them.
“I refuse to feed on humans,” Thor informed him.
“You really are stubborn.” Asher shook his head. “The plan is going to be executed, with or without you.”
“Then it will be without me.” Thor closed his eyes.
He had to stop this insanity. He couldn’t become a killer. He had to remain strong.
The rest of the vampires scattered in different directions. They were circling around a farm. Were there people here? Asher had said they were after animals. Would he leave the humans alone?
There was a house surrounded by a barn, corral, and acres of land. Horses filled the corral. There were cows in another fenced in area. To the side of the corral was a pig pen. A chicken coop sat beside it.
Thor didn’t see any humans. That was a good sign. He watched them close in on the animals. In seconds there was blood everywhere. The animals were being ripped apart.
This was senseless violence at its best. Could Thor ever be so malevolent? He doubted it.
Still he needed to feed. The hunger was so overwhelming. He grabbed a chicken, biting into its neck. The blood was warm and coppery in his mouth. It tasted horrible.
Thor heard something near the house. A sound he didn’t want to hear.
“What do you think you’re doing?” the man screamed.
Thor watched Asher lunge at the man. Right for his throat. He had to get there before it was too late. He wouldn’t let Asher get away with this.
He grabbed the back of Asher’s neck, throwing him backward. He landed on the ground with a sickening thud. Had he been in time to save him?
“You’re too late.” Asher laughed. “I’ve tasted his blood.”
“I told you no humans.” Thor grabbed his throat.
“Oops.” Asher smiled.
“This is no joke,” Thor growled. “He better not die.”
“Thanks to you, he won’t.” Asher stared him in the eyes. “Unless I finish the job.”
“No.” He tightened his grip on Asher’s neck. “You will not destroy humans.”
“Who’s going to stop me?” Asher laughed again. “You?”
“Yes.” Thor slammed his fist into Asher’s chest.
“The vampire flew through the air. He landed against the barn. Thor grabbed his throat again.
“My turn.” Asher grabbed his wrist.
Thor’s arm was wrenched behind his back. Asher was pretty tough. He was no match for Thor’s strength though. He could easily be overpowered.
Thor twisted around behind Asher pushing the vampire to the ground. This battle between them ended now. This farm would be their final battleground.
“I’ll kill you,” Asher screamed.
“You’ll try.” Thor sidestepped his attack. “You’ll fail.”
Asher came at him, fangs bared. Thor pushed him to the ground. Why wouldn’t he just stay down? Was he that determined to die?
The vampire charged at him again. Thor punched him in the stomach. Asher fell to his knees. No more games. This was over. He grabbed Asher’s hair.
“We’re done here.” Thor threw him to the ground again. “Leave and never come here again.”
Thor started to walk away. He saw the movement from the corner of his eye. He turned to see Asher coming at him again.
“You fool.” Thor rammed his hand into Asher’s chest. “Now you die.”
Asher’s face filled with fear. Thor stared into his eyes as he ripped Asher’s heart out. The vampire fell to the ground in a heap. Thor looked at the vampires surrounding him. It was time they respected their new leader. He had a better plan for them.
“We’re not destroying the humans.” Thor slammed his hammer onto the ground, smiling.
That got their attention. They would obey or face Asher’s fate.
“We are turning every human on this planet. They will be part of our covenant. You will obey my orders. I am Thor, God of the Night.”
Maybe he was evil after all? Thor continued to roam the earth turning all the humans to vampires. In no time he had an army to help him conquer the galaxy.
