Rise Above: Taking a Stand Against Bullying

Knowing what’s right doesn’t mean much unless you do what’s right. Did you know that more than one out of every five (20.8%) students report being bullied? 60.3 million U.S. workers are affected by workplace bullying. 19% of Americans suffered abusive conduct at work, another 19% have witnessed it, and 63% are aware that workplace bullying happens.

RRSMS is embarking on a new anthology series dealing with bullying, called Rise Above. Stories can be both fiction or non-fiction and can be excerpts from novels. Poetry is also acceptable. Together we can rise above the bullies and stomp out bullying! All proceeds benefit STOMP Out Bullying.

National Aunt and Uncle Day

National Aunt and Uncle’s Day on July 26th honors a special set of relatives we look up to throughout our lives. During holidays, family events and sometimes sleepovers, aunts and uncles often hold an extraordinary place in our hearts. They fill our lives with fun, laughter, love and incredible memories.   This holiday provides an opportunity to spend time with our parents’ siblings we trusted and leaned on growing up.  It would be an excellent time to get out the old photo albums.
