Meet Sandy Ashley, Band of the Month Coordinator

Tell our readers a little bit about yourself. We want to get to know you better!
I'm a mom of 3 amazing kids. They are 11 years, 4 years and a month. Two boys and a girl. I have an amazing boyfriend who I have been with for almost 2 years. I love video games, writing swimming, sports (football and hockey), music, and of course family time! I love making new friends as well!

What’s it been like volunteering for Rock & Roll Saved My Soul? What is your favorite thing about it?
Volunteering for Rock & Roll Saved My Soul has been amazing. I love working with everyone that is a part of it. My favorite thing is writing the stories that might also help someone else.

What made you want to join the Rock & Roll Saved My Soul team?
The fact that my story could help someone else just makes me want to do more for everything Rock & Roll Saved My Soul. Plus, I wouldn't have met all the amazing people I have if I didn't join in and help this great cause!

Who are some of your favorite bands?  Favorite album(s)/song(s)?
There are so many bands that I love and songs and albums! It’s hard to pick just one. I will do my top 5 bands though and a few songs by each of them that I love and could listen to over and over. Bands aren't in an order if any kind. My top 5 bands are *N Sync, My Darkest Days, Just Surrender, Skillet and Owl City. I love all the albums by these bands at least the ones I have heard. Haven’t heard all of Skillets albums yet. As far as songs go I like so many by each of these bands. “Your Life and Mine” is a great one, “Sick of It” is a good pick me up song. I be here all day listing songs though.

If you’ve been to a concert, which was the most memorable? Feel free to share any stories with us!
I have been to a few concerts! It’s really hard to pick just one that I loved more than the rest! They all have special stories to go with them. My first concert was pretty awesome though. My best friend/founder of Rock and Roll Saved My Soul is the one who took me. We also had some awesome adventures with a few other shows we went to as well. There is Owl City which was a crazy night/day for that show. We also had the cookie episode for another show. I also took my son to his first concert that was a lot of fun. There was a concert I went to with my ex husband, son, and a great friend and her boyfriend. We got pulled before the show to meet the band. Just so many memories of so many concerts. I hope to have more with oldest son, some with my daughter and my youngest when they are old enough to go to concert. I’m a concert addict thank to Katie!

If you could go on tour with one band for a month, which band would you choose and why?
Tour with one band huh? I would have to say Nickelback! I love them and I have it on my bucketlist to meet the famous Chad! Touring with them would give me that chance! Plus I could totally handle partying with them for a month!

Are you a writer or musician? What genre? Where can we find out more about your writing or music?
I have wrote some song lyrics. They are on my facebook under notes. If you want to look into it more. I haven’t wrote anything in awhile though. I wouldn’t mind getting back into it, but it just hasn’t been itching to come out. I know that when it does I will be adding it all to my page. It’s how I can keep it no matter what.

Anything you’d like to add?
I just hope that these books are able to help people to know they aren’t alone in the world and that there are people out there that have been where they are and we made it and give them hope that they can as well.
