Rise Above


More than one out of every five (20.8%) students report being bullied. 60.3 million U.S. workers are affected by workplace bullying. 19% of Americans suffered abusive conduct at work, another 19% have witnessed it, and 63% are aware that workplace bullying happens. 

Knowing what's right doesn't mean much unless you do what is right. Bullying is around us from the time we enter school and for some it is still there when they become adults. It is time to take a stand and rise above the bullying. 

In this anthology you will find a collection of short stories and poetry dealing with this very important topic. Some are true, some are not, but all have a powerful message. 

All proceeds from this book will be donated to STOMP Out Bullying.

Talks About An Important Issue. Bullying is definitely something that needs to be talked about more. It's not okay to do. While this book deals with that topic, it didn't show a lot of someone standing up to the bully. I think that's important to talk about as well. The majority of the stories didn't give the bully any consequences and I did not like that. We also need to see more support for the victims in books too.

National Aunt and Uncle Day

National Aunt and Uncle’s Day on July 26th honors a special set of relatives we look up to throughout our lives. During holidays, family events and sometimes sleepovers, aunts and uncles often hold an extraordinary place in our hearts. They fill our lives with fun, laughter, love and incredible memories.   This holiday provides an opportunity to spend time with our parents’ siblings we trusted and leaned on growing up.  It would be an excellent time to get out the old photo albums. Look through the pictures, and relive the memories of earlier days around the Christmas tree or at the 4th of July picnic or maybe at the beach vacation that included those special aunts and uncles in your life. Get together with your relatives and create new memories. Remind them of all the reasons you enjoy having them in your life. Celebrate the lessons they’ve taught you and share them with the next generation.  Another way to celebrate the day is by documenting family memories and history.
