Rock N Reading Traveling Book


You may have heard about the Rock & Roll Saved My Soul's newest program -- the traveling book. Last month there was a sign up to participate. Everyone who signed up was put on a list and then the list was randomized for fairness. I (Kate) was the first to read the book and will now be passing it on to the next person on the list. Once they get it, they read the book, sign their name inside the book somewhere, snap a picture with it to post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc, then pass it on to the next person on the list. Once the list is completed, the book still travels on with the instructions, but who you give it to is completely up to you!

Use the hash tags #rocknreading #travelingbook #RRSMS when posting your pictures! And book reviews are awesome too, if you want to write one. (I didn't, because I'm terrible at them lol) 

Feel bad you missed out on this? Have no fear! We will be doing another one in a few months. Be on the lookout for the Google Form to fill out to get your name on the list!

National Aunt and Uncle Day

National Aunt and Uncle’s Day on July 26th honors a special set of relatives we look up to throughout our lives. During holidays, family events and sometimes sleepovers, aunts and uncles often hold an extraordinary place in our hearts. They fill our lives with fun, laughter, love and incredible memories.   This holiday provides an opportunity to spend time with our parents’ siblings we trusted and leaned on growing up.  It would be an excellent time to get out the old photo albums. Look through the pictures, and relive the memories of earlier days around the Christmas tree or at the 4th of July picnic or maybe at the beach vacation that included those special aunts and uncles in your life. Get together with your relatives and create new memories. Remind them of all the reasons you enjoy having them in your life. Celebrate the lessons they’ve taught you and share them with the next generation.  Another way to celebrate the day is by documenting family memories and history.
