Meet Colleen Robbins, Head of Creative Endeavours

Tell our readers a little bit about yourself. We want to get to know you better!
Hi, my name is Colleen. I'm Kate's (founder) mom. I have a story in Random Acts of Kindness.  One of my favorite pastimes is crafts. I knit, crochet, cross stitch, paint wooden ornaments, and make fairy wands and tutus, among other things.  My other favorite thing to do is spend time with my family, especially my grandson. 

What’s it been like volunteering for Rock & Roll Saved My Soul? What is your favorite thing about it?
It's been very rewarding. I like to help people and got interested because of Kate and her passion for music.

What made you want to join the Rock & Roll Saved My Soul team?
I have always loved music. And it's a good way to help and put my talents to use.

Who are some of your favorite bands?  Favorite album(s)/song(s)?
Nickelback, Maroon 5, Just Surrender Bump of Chicken

If you’ve been to a concert, which was the most memorable? Feel free to share any stories with us!
I'm not sure that I have just one. I love going with my daughter, Kate. Sharing music has brought us closer.

If you could go on tour with one band for a month, which band would you choose and why?
I would pick Maroon 5. I love their music. It would be a great chance to travel. And Adam Levine, need I say more!!

Are you a writer or musician? What genre? Where can we find out more about your writing or music?
I'm not a writer or a musician, but I am a crafter, obviously. I sell my things on my daughter's shop on Facebook.

Anything you’d like to add? 
Music has a huge impact on our lives. We listen when we're happy, angry, sad, etc. It also brings people together. That's an amazing thing!

National Aunt and Uncle Day

National Aunt and Uncle’s Day on July 26th honors a special set of relatives we look up to throughout our lives. During holidays, family events and sometimes sleepovers, aunts and uncles often hold an extraordinary place in our hearts. They fill our lives with fun, laughter, love and incredible memories.   This holiday provides an opportunity to spend time with our parents’ siblings we trusted and leaned on growing up.  It would be an excellent time to get out the old photo albums. Look through the pictures, and relive the memories of earlier days around the Christmas tree or at the 4th of July picnic or maybe at the beach vacation that included those special aunts and uncles in your life.
